Quinta Do Tarrio is a kiwi plantage. It is located 5 km from Barcelos, originally an antique roman town. The Quinta covers 6 ha of farm land and 3,5 ha of forest, and its history goes back more then 200 years. The gardens with their fruit trees are excellent for a stroll or a pick-nick. There is a private well that provide the best driking-water.
Our guests have a big living-room with fireplace, music and bar at their disposal. The outdoor kithchen and barbeque provides a nice atmosphere on warm evenings. The more activity minded will enjoy the game court equipped for Tennis, basket,hand-ball and wollyball, followed with a refreshing swim in the spacious pool.
Quinta Do Tarrio is situated in the fertil Minho region, 58 km from Oporto ( Porto ) and only 20 km from Braga and Viana Do Castelo, 50 km from Guimaraes. These are all antique towns and worth a visit. Esposende is the nearest costal town 12-15 km from the Quinta. Here You will find the well known golf course Estela.
Barcelos is a small pitoresque town, and every Thursday the most famous market in the north of Portual is held here. In Barcelos area You will find traditional restaurants where You can enjoy a nice lunch or dinner for 3,5 -15 Euros per person.
All our guest-rooms have their own private entrence from the inner-Patio. The Patio is nicely furnished with cafe-tabels and chairs
The break-fast is served in the main dining-room, overlooking the valley and the mountains. Fresh orange-juice from the orange-trees of the Quinta will be served in season.
